There are a few key reasons why aluminum is the perfect material for your van conversion:
Strength and Lightweight Durability
Aluminum offers unmatched strength for its weight, making it ideal for van conversions. You can trust that your build will stand up to the test of time and stay securely in place, even during hard braking or an accident. Unlike mass produced, stapled together wood builds, our aluminum structures are built to last.Perfect Dimensional Stability
Aluminum ensures your van build remains square and structurally sound. This stability guarantees that everything stays exactly where it should, no matter how rough the road gets. No matter how many miles you put on your van.Quiet Performance
Tired of squeaky, creaky wood builds? Our aluminum vans stay quiet on the road. No more annoying rubbing or squeaking noises—just a peaceful ride every time.Moisture-Resistant
Aluminum will never swell, warp, or delaminate like plywood and MDF can when exposed to moisture. This is crucial in the changing climates your van will encounter, ensuring your build stays in top condition through all seasons for many years.Endless Customization Options
With our t-slot framing system, you can mount just about anything anywhere, and it’s all removable without leaving permanent holes, like you would get with wood. Clients have added entire shelves with ease, thanks to the flexibility of t-slot aluminum. Your van, your way.Low Maintenance
Forget about future refinishing or upkeep. Aluminum requires little to no maintenance, so you can focus on enjoying your van, not constantly fixing it.

King Starboard is a premium product from the marine industry and it's one of the many high quality materials we incorporate into our builds. We choose marine grade components because they consistently outperform RV specific materials, offering superior durability and reliability.
King Starboard is a fantastic alternative to plywood panels, designed to handle the harshest environments. Here's why we love it:
UV, Moisture, and Humidity Resistant: Won’t swell, rot, warp or delaminate over time, even in extreme conditions.
Durable and Long-Lasting: Built to endure abuse from the sun and wet environments without deteriorating.
No Frequent Touch-ups: Unlike painted wood, it’s finished all the way through the board, so there’s no need for constant refinishing.
Easy to Clean: Its smooth surface makes maintenance a breeze—just wipe it down, no fuss.
Low Maintenance: Enjoy a durable, clean surface without the hassle of upkeep.

Yes. How long depends on the battery bank size. But the standard battery bank would give you around 4-5 hours of AC usage. Not counting solar power coming in at the time. Obviously in 80-85 degree weather the AC uses less power which means it could run longer.

We use Thinsulate SM600L—the best option on the market. Not only does it provide excellent thermal insulation and sound deadening, but it also excels in moisture control, which is crucial for van life.
Here’s why Thinsulate is the ideal choice:
Moisture-Resistant: Thinsulate absorbs no moisture, which is vital for metal van walls. Daily condensation naturally forms inside the van. Thinsulate allows it to pass through and evaporate, keeping your van dry and mold free.
Breathable: Unlike wool insulation, which can hold moisture and promote mold growth, Thinsulate lets your van breathe, ensuring better air quality inside.
Non-Irritating: Unlike fiberglass and Rockwool, which can release tiny, irritating particles into the air, Thinsulate stays intact, keeping the air clean.
Sound Deadening: Thinsulate is an excellent sound absorber, reducing road noise and making your van as quiet as possible for a more peaceful ride.
Flame-Resistant: Thinsulate passes rigorous flammability tests, making it a safe choice for your van build. It is specifically built for automotive applications.
Overall, Thinsulate SM600L offers a combination of comfort, safety, and durability that’s perfect for van life.
